View Full Version : Mig Welder Wanted
Need a Mig to do some repairs on my Mav
Near Malvern in Worcestershire would be a bonus!
eBay ?
Not entirely sure what I need!
I know gassed is better than "No Gas" but not sure about amps etc.......
You want gas really, as doing thin stuff without will be shit
What do u want to weld ? How thick ?
Get a clarke 130 or 150
Or a cebora/snapon/boc 130
The above can be got used, for £100 ish

I just spotted what looks like a good buy on "Pre-Loved"
Waiting for the guy to tell me whether its 3x phase or single as it didn't say in the ad!

i use a gasless mig and find it copes with most stuff, good penetration even on 3mm box. gasless is better if you are working outside as the gas shroud isnt blown away as on gas migs(ive used both for many years). hope this helps.

Hey!
Well Spotted.
With Two bottles full of Gas it looks like a good deal?

Seems so, Pub gas bottles can be hard to come by now as most places charge rent on them.
And proper stuff is expensive to buy.
Sip welders have a bad rep on mig welding forum :nenau
Yes but for what he's asking its still a good deal.
Being that full bottles of gas cost generally £50+ each unless you are very good friends with a pub landlord and his supplier don't charge rent.
Then it has a gauge(s) to which can be £20+
