Yeah I can't imagine adults fitting in the third row of seats:lol:lol:lol

But yes the reg plate is so wrong!!!! Couldn't even fit that one as a private plate either.

You can't put newer plates on older car etc.
Maybe he's transfering the plate off the 96 to his newer Terrano :nenau
Can't be arsed to check DVLA but I bet that's the new reg plate on it

A new plate would be age related . That plate could never be on that car unless its the date first registered in uk ???

1st registered in UK is not a number plate thing just V5 notification. It would be issued with an age related reg. no.
So you could have a 1996 car 1st registered in UK 2012 on a P plate :)

The only way you could have 1996 car on 52 plate is if the car was never sold and held in compound somewhere then it would still be classed as new when registered in 2002 unlikely but possible

Looking at it more closely it appears to be a TD (no intercooler scoop on the bonnet, no cup holder, no aircon, square headlights), is it a 1996? Must be a very early one!

Rear bumper also appears to be earlier than '96, round cut-out for spare wheel instead of square.

Just checked that plate with DVLA. It hasn't been issued so its a definite fake.:sly

Odd thing is it doesnt show up on dvla but it does come up as 1996 ford maverick on hpi check here https://www.hpi.co.uk/home/

This is the answer I got off him :)
"Hi there,
This is the registration number as provided by DVLA and on all docs, because it was in NI originally with an NI reg.
Hope this helps"

But Ive had two cars that I put NI plate on CIL 9946 and CIL5909 why would you have to take them off ?

Surely it would still be age related from dvla if they were changed

I was looking at that one before but was unsure but did do a car check and does come back as a maverick but registered in oct 02 with 4 previous owners. But i think ill give it a miss unless it goes very cheap.

DVLA hav been known to make the odd cock up re-registering stuff.

Believe it or not I've seen an "E" reg, as in 1988 leaf sprung Landy. It all checked out, was just a mistake made by DVLA and once done, unless an owner questions it, nothing gets changed.
There were also a few ex mod Landies that got the year plate when registered, not manufactured. I owned a series 2 landy that was a 1961 on an old J suffix that was ex mod.

i know its the same layout as mine & as basic lights are the same part from those fake light guards.

mine also laid about a warehouse & didn't get registered til jan 97 on a P plate & was only manufactured the highlander between 95-96.

could be a ringer could be dvla cock up. they did that with my license once & issued to my old address from bout 5 yrs ago with no reason or need to as I had my address changed when I moved only found out when I moved again & changed address again.

Hi there,
Car was imported from NI in 2002, DVLA V5C shows date of first registration in the uk as 29/10/2002, reg no VA52VPM was allocated by DVLA when NI plate transferred.
Hope this helps
