Ive been around the block a few times and I know cheapness is often false economy.
Ive been trying to get some cash together for some new tyres and was aiming for bf goodridge all terrains.
im going to try and get a spare set of wheels with mud and snow tyres later on for winter.
but the bfgs cost 132 a corner which I may be able to do including the spare.
but what do you think of these 190789005766 on ebay
is this false economy?

Alot of people swear by kingpins and at that price I'd go for it !
But I'd be going a bit bigger
265/70/16 will fit with no mods as long as you reset torsion bar on the front

cheers dude the bigger the better. And I deffo want to give more ground clearance for the next job.

I just put back tyres on the car they were called forceum ats went to the farm today took me over the fields which are really shitty no problems £175 for the two
I had Kingpins on mine, same tread pattern and design as Insa turbos.
I never had any issues-ride was good and solid, great grip, excellent in the snow and mud, yeah for the money, they were superb. Cost me £40 a tyre at the time, £10 fitted, and lasted right up until a few month ago-so that's about 4 years.

i did a lot of research on cut price tyres i have malatesta kolala, they have the best load rating/speed rating/ price combination an i have done 7000 miles on them.
at the time i remember everyone (and you Stinka) slagging off kingpins!
insa have a lower spec and a higher price than malatesta!
i am very pleased with mine, i rate them higher than BFG ATs (which they are a copy of) and i used to love them :thumb2

still shopping for a week or two.
which is way too long.
after the tractor pulling me out episode Im left with little confidence to go off the beaten track for adventure for fear of getting stuck again.
the front two are pretty low tread general grabber at 2s which I quite like.
and the rear are just terrable road tyres very low tread and slightly cracked with age.
but im deffo going to take stinkas advice and look at 265s rather than 235s.
im also drooling over a website that are doing wheel and tyre packages.
but the prices are a bit heavy.

but the thing i keep reading is.
"copys,retreads,bfg tread pattern copy"
If Im going to part with what could potentialy be big bucks.I dont want them to be worn out in 12 months.
hence my question.
Is it false economy to buy cheap,or dig deep and last (if as they claim) upto 80k miles bfgs.
having said that money is hard to come by these days and Id rather keep it or at least get a couple of jobs done to my truck rather than just tyres.
will keep shopping till my cash is in.
Ill ask your opinion on my final 3 options

Personally, if you are spending £100 a tyre I'd go the extra few quid and get cooper stt's mine have performed well in mud, but they are awesome on the road and in the wet !
Other than that I'd get the insas or the malatestas that plank likes

4x4 tyres.co.uk prices.
£707 for 265 70 16 bfgs with steel black wheel package
or cooper stts with same wheel package £816.
the wheels on my truck are quite fancy alloys but I think I like the idea of the black steel rims.
will have to wait and see how many pups my labarador has in two weeks lol.

This seller is Charles at jcs. That's where I got mine from, he's a top bloke.
That's the size I got and he took my front flaps off and cut the seam etc so they didn't catch, although I did a bit more trimming and then sealed it all when I got home
Which ever size u go for I'd give him a ring first as he can't really be beaten tbh, also u want -25 offset jap rims if u go for new wheels

Cheaper than anyone for wheels/tyres combo. Good service. Used them twice now.
I think I got 4x 31s cooper STTs on rims for about £500 new.
If the combo you want is not listed just ring them up and have a chat.
