Hi All

Thought I would introduce myself. They call me Ants and I currently live in Wellington, New Zealand.

Have had my 1991 D21 Terrano TD27T for just over 6 years now with plenty of mods done to it.

I used to live in Surrey, UK up until 6 years ago for about 8 years. After 6 years away I'll be returning this weekend for a work trip. So will be great to see the old place again.

Always interested to see whats happening in the local 4x4 scene, wherever I go. Does anyone know of any events going on in my area? I'll be staying in Windsor for a bit and then driving down to Gosport.

Cheers Mick, yeah she's taken a bit of work to get there.

Latest interesting mod was cutting the viscous fan off the water pump shaft and installing a twin electric fan setup...that was fun :-)

I did that on mine and was a right pain. Why couldn't they just have an unboltable one like the Patrol ? :nenau

If you bolt them in front of the rad, you don't have to remove the viscouse:thumb2

Cheers guys

Yeah we moved back after our daughters were born. So we could bring the kids up with family around them.

Those tyres are Maxxis Bighorn MT762 32 x 11.5 x 15. You will find the actual 'true' diameter varies slightly between manufacturers. A mate of mine has the same truck, but 2door running 33" Simex. They don't rub, but its all in the rim offset. I believe his is a zero offset and they tuck under the guards nicely during flex.
I went with getting the wheels to sit proud of the sides so when I'm going through rutted walled tracks, those tyres keep the body from scraping the sides.

Thought about putting the fans across the front, but with the trans cooler and winch there isn't much space left. Didn't want to bring the front bar out any further or I loose on my approach angle.

The idea of electric is to replace the viscous mate ;)

Frees up horse power, and better for wading

And stops all that mud being splattered around the engine bay. I just switch mine off not, fly through the mud and water and then back on again. Never had an engine bay looking so good after a trip :lol

Yes but then they're in the mud zone and get clogged up and in the way for cleaning the rad and generally wrong. With them behind the rad the natural air flow keeps things cool much longer. Also helps stop the mud becoming clay as the rad wont be as hot.
AND the winch goes in front of the rad, everyone knows that :lol

So did I but that's cause last night's dinner and the small space I was working were not conducive to prolonged life :lol
