View Full Version : What's your tipple ?
I'm a bitter/real ale man, but also love cider
Used to drink only lager in my youth but when I was about 28 I had joint problems and after much investigation, which was inconclusive a consultant advised me to change from larger to bitter, sorted my joints and I got the taste for it after a couple of months
7 years later and I love the stuff :D
Like dark milds tbh as a regular drink, but I do like a nice strong hoppy bitter too
Recently really got into cider. Some of the westons stuff is nice but I prefer the more home made stuff. Although hennys is worth a serious look if you like proper cider ( not that chemical shite like bulmers/kopprrberg/reckorderlig etc)
How about u ?
This is my current favourite drink, although I'll only have a couple a night as its proper strong like :D

its really easy or really hard, depending on how accurate you want to be, some experiments go sooo wrong but some good ones! free apples and just add a flavour and wait......
I guess that's a no then:lol:lol:lol
You are in your prime ffs, stop being gay
My dad introduced me to larger age 14, used to get me a 6 pack of 'beur d,Alsace' on a Saturday night that I used to drink with him whilst he had his wine and prepared tea
I can distinctly remember getting the taste for it and how I loved having a few bevvys with my old man
Nowadays tho I'd rather have a corona ice cold with a lime in the top, or a nice crisp pint of peroni ... CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER :D
(My knees make me pay tho, next two days :( )

ah ha yes to cider :D we've got a few trees out the back and squash them into cider. Also got plum trees and the wife likes a bit plum wine.
Then we've got shed loads of sloes, they're a pain in the arse to pick but pay off is when they've been floating around in gin for a few months, just ready for crimbo :clap
Mostly though on friday I'll be testing budwieser :beer
Closely followed by copious amounts of red wine, shiraz or merlot usually:cool:

will do, apples and pears was my best last year. i will pop some on tomoz matey.
in a totally unscientific experiment we reckon we are getting around 12%, but avoid the "turbo yeasts", quick yield yeasts take it to 24% in 7 days, did my liver in! all good now tho!

Rick, glad someone on here likes a proper drink, quite partial to a Laphroiag myself, or a Bunnahabhain usually with a tiny splash of Scottish water. Isle of Jura is always a pleasant glass too.

Real Ale's, Clarkes Classic Blonde or Timothy Taylors Golden Best. Went away a few months back to Lincolnshire for a whole week without the wife and ended up on Pear Cider yum yum. Love Port, York House Port is a good one.
But I rarely drink:thumb2

I could regale you with 100s of alcohol related fk ups from my youth mate, its just normal ...
My favourite tipple is a malt whisky or two. Highland preferred over the Islay ones, but only just.
However, not all my liquid presents are malt.
Bells or Teachers we recycle, ie birthday presents etc, but other medium quality blends like famous grouse etc I use as mixers.
Try this one...
Rusty nail.
one large shot of Drambuie, an equal shot of NON Malt Whisky (Scotch) or even Whiskey(Irish) Never Malt, what a waste, and Never bourbon, spoils it.
Add a few lumps of ice, stir and enjoy.
My wife hates Drambuie, she also hates neat scotch, but when mixed 50/50 she really enjoys it.
In fact I was actually drinking a " Rusty Nail" when I looked at the words and my Login id was born.
Cheers, Rustic

Sorry guys not touched a drop since 1985 .
Lighter coloured real ales and red wine if 'drinking'.
A triple measure of Highland Park with a splash of water for 'unwinding'!
It was the missus that got me in to Whisky! so it's nice that we can both sit and have a dram together.

I will always drink there ales and bitters when out for the night.
Can't stand lager any more, I find it too gassy, mind I used to knock it back in the day...funny how tastes change :)
