thanks peps.
a bit about the nissan.
its a terrano 2 2.7 tdi se on a 99t plate.
taxed mot for 4 months,i know the 4x4 as we have vanned together for 4 years.
slight front wing blistering but i am not worried.good paint all round,
rear sill corners might want work for next mot as on advirsary.
he had not planed to sell it but he was offered a 54 kia at a bargain price so i am the winner.
he has had it serviced every 6 months at the garage he uses.
he just this month had 2 new rear tyres fitted, replaced 2 front wheels with better ones at a cost of 270.all tyres good.
last year it had new front disks and pads and new battery.the only time it has let him down was the battery in -5 degree jan12.
its been well looked after 102000 mls gives him 25/30 towing.big van.
its clean in and out,he is 77,great condition leather seats just a good truck that he has let me have for 650.i am sure its a bargain.
i am at my towing limit with my zx 1900td so now have the option to go bigger.
i use logs so the boot will come in very handy instead of my trailer.but i will need to carry more wvo for my long trips.:thumbs

Welcome to the site.
Upgrading to what...?

Some vehicles will be a down grade:doh

Some are VERY unreliable.

So What is the up grade then...?:nenau:nenau

Edit ...our posts crossed...
I have had my Mav nearly 18 years, I doubt the Kia will still be around by then!

Welcome to the madhouse, sounds like a sweet truck you've bagged there. Biggest pain using vwo on these is the height of the fuel filler, means lifting cubies higher than a zx! I just got a decent drill pump, makes life a lot easier.

thanks for info.
i fill up my zx with 3ltr plastic bottles, since a heart prob i have not got a lot of strength to lift.its easy to keep a record of the ltrs to,for hmc,but i will be using a lot more wvo when i start to use the t2,still using the zx till it sells as cant put 2 cars on the road at the same time.

Didn't know that...
I'm unlikely to do more than 15000 miles a yr @25mpg

i have done around 8000 every year for the last 4 years mainly towing my van.so know i will be well within my allowance.
i keep a record of date mileage on car and ltr i put i to comply with the hmcr peeps.in the car at all times.
what can i expect in mpl with the t2 towing about 1000kg.

well keeping my legs crossed as a chap is coming up from southend for the zx in the morning.
had it on eb but took it off as no bids 7mins befor end, then got a mail from the chap who said he put a bid in,it was red when i stopped the sale.
anyway i phoned him up and chatted, seems gen, agreed a price so collecting in the morning.
only thing is i have just insured both the zx and t2 on a multi policy with admiral,i think a good price for com on both 401.
then went on line to cancel my zx ins and the robbers want to deduct 50 of the refund for the priv.
so now if he collects the zx i will have to go to admiral and cancel there ins as well as the other one.i hope admiral are ok due to a cooling off period.
229 for the t2,is that good or bad.

well the good news is the zx sold,he was well pleased and supprised how nippy it was.
he came up and picked it up and i got him to take me to the waiting t2 at weeting 70mls and he agreed as i had put plenty of oil in the zx as i thought i was going to use it for the trip.
he drove and he put it through its paces all the way so he had a 70ml test drive.well happy and of he went home to southend 100ml away,i put 4 ltrs of oil in to be kind.
i then had a nightmare insurance problem too long to type but got the t2 covered and hitched up to van and set of to collingham 120ml away for the weekend rally to meet my brother.
first impression of t2 as i had not ever drove it was i dont like it as i am used to smooth speed and good take off.
the clutch leak drove me mad so i took it to a garage near where i was that my brother found on his pj forum,he could not see it till the monday so i went back after the weekend and it was the flexy pipe as suspected
he phoned around and the best he could do was 2days away as it is a nissan part so no one had one.
so back to the site and a phone call to my brother and he came back the same,2 days.
any way i was of home the next day so phoned my mate who i had the t2 of off as i was going back to his and explaned and he phoned the main nissan at thetford who did not have one so ordered it and he picked it it the next morning at 8.30,how fast is that.
cost discounted was 50 including a ltr of oil and vat.
not cheap but when i get it off i will get a new flexy pipi made and crimped on so i will have a spare.
got home to clacton ok and now like the t2.
will sort out the pipe at my leisure now.

forgot to say,i dont like the way the fuel gauge goes down compared to the zx.

I know the feeling, I have found I often use less when towing as I tend to drive slower and more sedately!

I had to laugh when you said that you put 4L of veg in the ZX, on a T2 that would get you round the block maybe!

Glad you're getting to like the old gal, they're definitely not smooth quiet motorway cruisers, but there is a certain something that just sticks a big grin on my face when I drive it. Drove over a 1000 miles the other week down to your neck of the woods and back and the next day, I was still more than happy to jump back in to the driving seat.
