I have to take it all back, the weather forecasters were right... Snowmagedan struck here last night... I woke up at 4am, nothing, then at 7am I was wondering if we would be able to get out the front door.
It was blizzarding, so badly, visibility must have been down to 4 or 5 miles, and I thought I may need some major Snow shovelling just to get to the car.
Once there, I am pleased to report that the T2 started with out a hiccup, and drove the 3 miles to the train station and back with out so much as a slip from the wheels in 2 wheel drive the the way, despite my wife pleading the whole journey that it might just be safer to take a "Snow Day". I explained "Us Real" 4x4's had to show the rest, and get through, so we carried on regardless of all the Chelsea Tractors with their Yummy Mummy's scattered on the grass kerbs, hundreds of kids in tow.
It was touch or go on the train front, but after a company meeting, they decided this apparently this was the "Right type of Snow", and they would just run the trains... late... rather than cancelling them.
So just to show you how bad it was...

It's getting really silly these days, national news main story that snow is coming, these days being reported in CM's as it sounds so much worse than inches! Where I went to school we had a 14 mile journey each way and that was short compared to some. All of us that lived outside the village had to have prearranged emergency accommodation with someone in the village in case we were snowed out. We did get days off, but that was usually when the road was filled in with 6ft+ drifts.

Hmmm wouldn't mind Pete but Mrs asked if I would like to go shopping with her...... you know the kind of question that really means you are coming shopping:doh
Snows stopped again too:eek:
hmmmm . take her shopping in keighley then ...... via denholme :augie:lol
kills 2 birds with 1 stone lol
on a serious note about shopping , i went down to tescos in brighouse this morning ...... hardly any bread on the shelves , milk etc ..... people buying loads ...... bluddie stoopid ...... so be warned
yes, i just love how the snow brings out the selfishness in people. Thats right, go buy more loaves than you need, never mind anyone else.
on a brighter note, we got well over 7 inches here and its drifting to well over 10 inches!

No, the drivers do:augie:augie.
I have been on call all weekend and had to have a LR 110 to get around, so I had to be picked up from home on Friday by the guy who normally drives the LR and he then drove me to his house, on route we came upon traffic and he decided to take a detour up a snow bound lane and then up a steep hill...never made it and ended up backwards in a hedge.....anyway, I said my Terrano would piss this hill, he was a bit embarrassed but wouldn't let me drive the rest of the way:doh
Once I had it, I went back to the same lane and it went up no problem, over the weekend I went into some quite deep snow and although not upto my Terrano, the LR was quite capable
Heavy snow here for an hour or so and its getting heavier
Just cracked a beer as well, but mate just messaged me so I'm going out to play after this can :D

wrong sort of hail maybe.
coming down well here tonight, almost blizzard like, if carries on will be better deeper
than last week, 50 p size flakes no less! and throwing down not just falling ....
still snowing here in Kendal at 2300 and it started at 1500 this afternoon. Sitting here watching the garden and the t2 slowly disappear. Dont you love how deep snow makes the world silent. regards bri
off to bed now with a warm blonde...mrs bri xx
i love snow , it makes my yard / garden look like everyone elses lol
please be carefull if you are going to play in the snow with your trucks ,
i dont know about anywhere else , but the snow fell onto ice and compacted snow here last night , making for lethal conditions .
Went Buxton then back across to Cheadle through some back roads
Was mental tbh, 2ft in some places, 5ft drifts, cars abandoned all along the road from Alton to Cheadle
SPOT ON :)

It's proper melting now:nenau
Going up to Mid Cheshire soon, outlaw visit, from Mid Staffs, so I will be avoiding the M6 anyway, too many foot ball supporters rushing to the northern matches:doh
We will be using the A roads so I will be taking the Mav, just in case we have to use the side roads, as idiots who can't drive in snow block all the roads.
There is also high risk of deep puddles too, as the last of the snow and ice is probably blocking the drains.
By mid Monday, most of it will be gone :(:(
