i suppose wev,e all been there ,had many cars in the past sold em never thinking it may go up in value or turn out to be a classic or collectors as time goes by.. one of my first cars was a beetle 1302s denim interior very rare called JEANS very basic i was young £150 changed hands insurance £43.00 yes 12mth cover , the car ment very little to me at the time as it was just cheap transport that suited my pocket but im amazed how much this car has increased in value over the years & being a jeans model in good nick would be bringing a few grand now... wished id hung on to it dam! !

There is a guy near me who has a GT6 in his barn.
He was storing it for someone for a few years and the owner has dissappeared.
The guy is going to sell it to cover the rent owed
I'm tempted, but the wife would kill me :augie
I had a 3dr mk2 golf gti resprayed in Porsche yellow, full 'euro look'
Car was an 86 the year was 1998
It had a few problems like head gasket brakes and suspension knackered so I swapped it for a cav gsi
So many regrets about that

an old school mate when we was 17 bought a ford capri RS3100 in red with recaro seats it was a stunning motor but sadly at his age he couldnt get insured so in the garage it went...yrs rolled on & 34yrs later he still has the car covered in thick dust but im sure by now with a bit of TLC & attension that motor will be worth few quid now never seen one in years on road
i know a man whos just scrapped a mark 1 capri would have cost more to put right than it was worth. it was that bad shame:(

ooohhh.h.....worth a bloody fortune!!! id would LOVE a GT6 (but dont have the money for one)
only one i wish I had kept, is my old Fourtrak Fieldman!!!
When I got it, i didnt know too much about 4x4's. NOW, I realise it was a much better car mechanically etc than I thought it was, and though I sold it for £350, it would probably be worth well over £1k now.
ok, not the same league as a Gt6 or an Escort, but its one of those things where it was almost not even worth selling for £350. If Id have kept it, done it up, it would have paid me back nicely.

Same here with my landy ex wife moaned about it so in a fit of madness flogged it for 500quid still couldnt live with the cow so split up
Wosrt desision ever i have ever made
Getting rid of the landrover:lol
Me and the wife have been talking about this lately as im not known for keeping my motors long and nearly every car ive owned is worth a hell of a lot more now. Just a few of examples :-
Ford capri 1.6 Lazer in mint condition
Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia (1983ish)
Vauxhall Belmont SRi (1987 model)
Classic shape mini's (5of)
Metro turbo
BMW E30 (3 of)
All of these i now regret selling plus many more which is why i intend to keep the Troll because we all know they are not exactly common and if the time comes that she's not road worthy ill store her untill funds allow a rebuild.

Had a 1957 Sunbeam Talbot in the early 70's when I married, we toured Europe in it towing a Bluebird hardboard sided van that had auto hydraulic jacks each side of the axle to level up when parked, also had vacuum servo brakes via two garage style air hose connectors to the car which I had updated with a separate servo unit, they were a common mod in those days, came into it's own over the Grand St Bernard Pass, we went over the top not the tunnel, they were the days, sold it to a yank from Chicago complete with a spare engine, rear axle and complete gearbox with add on overdrive, Rick
