Do a google for Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby.

I wish them the best of luck with this project, I've been following this for a few years now but now things appear to be moving a pace. Perhaps an appearance on the display circuit next year? lets hope so as it'll one huge spectacle to see two Lancasters in formation.

PS So much nicer to look at than a scabby old misty:lol

Some of the Lancaters were built at Metropolitan- Vickers in Trafford Park where my father worked, about a mile from where we lived..

Great experience for you. Hope they do get this one back in the air it'll be something else to see two of them in the air.

A similar subject to the Lanc, may be of more importance. Anyway the very best of look to these people recovering these aircraft, it must be very exciting for them.

Yeah, I was looking at that, very interesting, it would be fantastic if they are in good nick and can be made to fly.
I was at Ducksford a few years ago and they were 16 Spitfires in the air at the same time, absolutely glorious noise :thumb2

There's a life size replica of the front fuselage section at the Pitstone museum, in north Buckinghamshire.
The guy built it over many years using original parts, you can sit in it and he has a sound track and a sort of vibration device to make it feel like the engines are running.
Well worth a visit
