Anyone got any fixed hubs or suggest best way to permantly lock an auto hub.
Getting very wet and muddy have a terrano i just use offroad for moving things around sold the auto hubs now its useless in 2wd with all the mud:doh
I've got some autos u can have :D
I'm sticking with fixed on mine as well, much more reliable :)

I'm sure I've heard of someone welding the auto hubs fixed but aint got a clue how they did it.

Im wondering if they are already engaged wether they would stay that way if the brake rings are removed.Only one way to find out i suppose.Did think of welding them think if they were just mig welded they would more than likely crack as its not mild steel:nenau

for the benefit of others, as I have already PM'd cncfabs, just removing the brake rings will not work even if locked as the first time you travel in the opposite direction they will unlock and stay unlocked, welding the dog clutch is not an option as this is gear material and will beak up putting metal fragments into your hub bearings, my suggestion is to remove the big spring that disengages the dog clutch and as the clutch is activated by a cam move this to the activated position a weld it there, the cam will be under no load so unlikely to fail and it only needs a couple of spot welds to sop it rotating and the dog clutch will be firmly engaged, cheap locked hubs, Rick
