can't you walk around yourself and get what you want? Thats what we do in wales, Ignition switch is perfect pocket size.

ahh ok:sly, it's not like that here in Scotland, all the cars are properly stacked and you tell them the parts you want and they get them.... usually the wrong bit:rolleyes:, the only other scrapyard near here is tiny, im yet to find a bigger one

Listen I've 'borrowed' things before, mostly from school, then I took them out my school bag and hid the 'borrowed' in my truck before mum seen......and that's no lie:sly you get good stuff in the technical class, well we do pay tax on the items :augie

Ohh and I have borrowed switches for my terrano, they don't do anything, just fill a blanking hole :lol came out a maverick

I am not happy with this comment on a public forum, it implies that you are condoning theft, or have I misunderstood what you meant.
Full apologies if I have misunderstood the comment.

There are certain parts that if you buy second hand, you buy twice.this part is one of them.
I found this out when I bought a second hand washer pump. It worked for a few months, and failed, so I had to buy a new one anyway.:doh

You just don't know how they have been used and how often.

£35 does seem a bit steep, but if you need it...:nenau
This is only the contact block, and not the barrel, if I remember from earlier posts.

Anyway, I thought you had a donor vehicle for parts.

His doner vehicle seems to have all the useful parts missing :lol
Anyway in Wales it's the law to redistribute small spares for the less well off, especially at this time of year :sly

What's wrong with tights ? I find them very beneficial up the scrappy, it's always perishing up there :lol
Mind you I hate when me hairs start poking through :augie

I used a pair of tights as a DIY airfilter once, duct taped them over the air intake hose on the tigra we had as a auto test car

We are resourceful here:D

I think if I can't find a good contact, I'll just get the 35 quid one, as with it being new, there's no worry of breakage after 5 uses :doh

If you get a second hand one, it may well be as old, as used and as knackered as your existing one. Bite the bullet and get a new one.
