Okay folks, who's good for T2 insurance?
My best quote so far is doable - if I have an excess greater than the trade value of the car! :doh
My renewal is quoted at £85 a month - so i told them to shove it (this on top of the fact it took them four months to barely sort out last year's renewal f*ckup).
How old are you and do you have any ncb or points etc?

The quote with the huge excess was the meerkats best effort.
50 yrs, 14+ years protected NCB (but hit & run on my parked car in Feb '09 came out of my insurance), no convictions in last 5 years.
Im paying £68 a month for 10 months for my landrover all modded.
If I payed in one go it's £520 + £54 breakdown cover.
I am 23 with 3 yr ncb.
Try confused.com, I was getting quotes as standard for £500 fully comp.

You simply have to blag it mate. The prices these days are complete ballocks :o I just had my renewal from Adrian Flux last week. They ruddy well doubled it from last year so I told them to stuff it in a dark place :sly
I was then asked what quotes I had had to warrant my reply/ I simply said I'd had a quote from Sureterm at half what they wanted (AF 580) ST 290 :lol
Took about 5 mins for them to come back with a new policy for less than the one I'd just told them :naughty
Fill your boots mate
Ha, I did a similar thing with AF a few days back. Although not quite the saving you did but good for my age. Saved £100 just by saying I can get it cheaper on confused.com. :naughty

I'm using Admiral multi car and have both T2 and Skoda Octy on fully comp, protected max NCD for wife and I at under £500 all in. However, I'm 42 and live in Scotland so I guess the risks are perceived to be lower.
Check your job description on Moneysavingexpert site as a different name for the same job can change it a bit too.
I too am with Admiral and have a multi car policy.
BMW 520 (06) £350 FC :augie
Ford Maverick (97) £ 275 FC :sly
Nissan Terrano (00) £170 FC :doh (Only insured it from begining of September till end Jan).
Im 42, full NCD, no points, no convictions and living in a town area.
Vehicles parked on secure driveway at night.
Down side to mulit car is they all have to run out at the same time, hence why i only insured the Teranno till end of Jan and you get one bill to renew them. Other than than they been really good. Iv decleard the mods i have done and they wernt bothered. :thumbs

That's interesting, I assumed Admiral wouldn't like anything non standard, maybe I need to make a call.

Good idea, except that my two options are 'unemployed' or 'author'. Neither of which rate highly in the reliability stakes, apparently.

Ins just drives me nuts :o I tried with Admiral to get three of our cars covered, well they wanted twice as much as I was already paying  How the hell did that work ? Alfa 156 with 9 years NCD, Focus oil burner with 10 years NCD , and a Merc Vito with 1 year NCD, they wanted near 1500 quid the robbing barstewards. All individually covered now for a total of £446 :naughty
I have some points by the way :augie

Hmm, the other half's Skoda had a handbrake fail last week and rolled out of her parents drive and damaged the opposite neighbours 2012 corsa, no real option but to claim so January could be painful!
Protected no claims bonus so I'll save even more as the base premium will probably sky rocket!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but your protected NCD wont help much. What the insurance will now do is raise the level of cover you need to high risk. If you have had no accidents you will have been in the low risk category.
That's how they con us all. So expect it to go up a fair bit. :(

Aye, that's what I meant, I'll still get my NCD, but now it'll be x% off a much larger figure, so in that stereotyped woman's 'shopping in the sales' terms, I'll save so much more!
The hit on my pocket will still be much larger too.

:lol
Academy couldn't give me a competitive quote because Mak isn't modified enough! Well, that's a first.:doh
alot of specialist mod insurance companies are that way.
Some mods actually make it cheaper as they are seen as a safety device.
