Tool kit (wheel brace)

Hi, does anyone have a spare tool kit or wheel brace they don't need? Just got a terrano bottle jack from the scrappy but it didn't have a toolkit with it. I have the long rod under my rear seats that fits into the square on the jack but thats it, after the other bits.

I would not use that effin jack if you paid me, far to unstable, £20 buys you a trolley jack fro Lidl's/Aldi when they are on offer, no contest much safer and easier, Rick

are you sure you dont have the bits, they are hidden away under a pull off cover near side looking through the back door, behind the rear seats. regards bri

i agree with solarman they are shite got 1 myself very unstable and takes ages to jack up.:thumb2 trolley jack all the way

Yeh i have checked inside and its not there. I have a trolley jack already, I just wanted to get the standard one in there tucked away coz i don't want to have my trolley jack rolling around in the back.

i got a 4 ton bottle jack that fits where the old shite one stores away to use when not near the trolley jack alot easier to use then the oem jack:thumbs

I agree the standard jack is pretty poor but will do the job when out and about if not with a struggle. However by the same token a cheap chinese trolley jack may not be a good idea if it's of poor quality. I do like the idea of the 4 ton bottle jack instead though.

What ever jack you choose to use everyone should use with caution and support the car if it all possible but I'm sure most people know this anyway.

I have a huge trolley jack but have not used it because it's years and years old so I have no idea what the seals are like and would hate the idea of it dropping.

I agree with that one, if you are really stuck, buy one of those puncture repair cans. But the tyre place do charge you extra to clean out the tyre and rim.:doh

I keep one in the wife's car, just in case she is stuck in the sticks. Also we have an electric tyre inflator in both cars for that overnight slow flat.:thumbs

When we tow the boat, the trolley jack gets lashed down in the back of the mav, together with any other equipment.

Don't carry loose stuff in the back, as they become projectiles in an accident or even hard braking.:doh
