mistral starter motor

As the title states, I need a starter motor for a 2.7 td 1996 automatic mistral.

My new one has packed up 6 weeks after the guarentee run out (sods law)

Has any one got 1 for sale.

And does any one know where i can my starter motor repaired in or around essex as it it just over a year old

I'm also needing a new starter. Mine screams when it turns the engine over:doh. Best place to look is eBay. That's here I've been told to look:)

correct me if im wrong ( solarman 216 might know ) ...... but i think the mistral starter motor is different than the standard t2 one

if you can get one with 2.5 power rating it will be dearer but well worth the outlay roy:thumb2

I would take it off and strip it first, might just be the solenoid contacts, does the solenoid operate when you try to start? Rick

the starter works fine every time but screams very fast after the engine has started, it sounds like it has disengaged from the starter ring but continues to turn.
i do suspect it could be the ignition switch, unsure though

Briggie is correct the Mistral starter is different

Mine screams when turning the engine and after. Surly the internals of the starters are more or less the same? Just different mountings :nenau

If you are near Southend try Southend Alternator, 01702-232267, his workshop is off Sutton Road Temple Farm, used him for starters & alternators for over 10 years:thumbs:thumbs
