Yes it does take some time getting used to the power!...lol

the power doesn't worry me, it's the technical issues! I know they were mostly troll related but my 2.7 is powerful enough and runs on SVO at 90p litre :thumb2

I use my 3.0 for towing a boat, the extra horses come in very handy!
Fuel consumption is a little better than the 2.7.
A friend has a 98 2.7 which runs very well but seems a bit agricultural compared to the 3.0.
All in all both good cars....

odd, but the couple of 3.0 i have driven (yes I've been tempted more than once) sounded rough compare to a 2.7. I can always here them coming as they have a proper 'rattle' by comparison. And I also tow some ridiculous loads on an almost daily basis, loads I'm not admitting to on here :naughty Still plenty of power form my 2.7! And not enough power difference to make me feel any 'wow' from the 3.0 either. So I guess I'll stick with my 2.7.

and most sources of information concerning MPG rate the 3l at the same as the 2.7 :nenau have you had a 2.7?

Well I have had both now and can say the 3.0 that we have is quieter and better on fuel than my old 2.7, which had done less miles.
As stated though, both engines are great:thumb2:thumb2

yep, it is said that all the problems with the 3.0 engine were sorted by the time they went into a T2 I'm just nervous and mean :lol

Would be a steal if you could get it for around the £2000 mark though;);)

odd thing is though that I have looked at a few late LWB estates with a view to using one as a tow car as part of our collection of cars and I have found a few dogs. One was a 2006 that had intermittent electrical problems that beat a Bosch specialist and the local Nissan dealer. Notably rough tick over and ABS light coming on. So it could be either a bargain or a headache - are they just trying to shift it on while it's working? or am i being paranoid again?

Is it just me that has a problem with dealers who pose as private sellers ?

it is technically illegal, and yes I have a problem with it too, to be honest I generally never buy from a dealer at all. When compare to the recent 'would you buy from an auction thread' is this a dealer, drying to ditch a lemon?

As plank said its Illegal, BUT, on the pluss side "A dealer is a Dealer" so even though he is trying to sell it private, i think the law still says its has a dealer warentee of 3 months. He can not avoid selling it private to get round it.

But i do stand to be corrected, i did say im not 100% sure.

i don't know about ebay but yes auctions are 'buyer beware' and you buy at your own risk, I have noticed motor traders have a different attitude to ebay and use it like a motor auction. They use classified ads for their decent stock.
