i would say to fit 33s on you need a 2inch body lift
and 2inch susspention lift at least unless you cut the arches
31s fit standard you just need to remove the mudflaps and wind torsion bar up

Quality parking there mate used to check my under-carriage that way too :lol
33s will fit with EITHER a 2" susp lift OR body lift. Much easier with both though as it's easier on wheel choice. 2" suspension lift and good offset wheels and 33s fit if no mud flaps and plastic bumper etc :thumb2
Loving the bumper work, top job, but have you done much road work with it, as I'd say it's choked the air flow a bit.
Keep it up ;)

ahh ok where have you housed your winch matey
makeitfit
19-04-2012, 21:46
Well it's not housed yet :augie Work in progress :lol but it's going to live inbetween the rear springs below floor level. Mine's stripped out and box under construction. It sits on 6mm folded steel shelf welded to both spring top hangers. New tank being welded with a tunnel in it for the line to go through.
You can mount the winch demountable on the bumper though.
Are you winch challenging or just keen to recover backwards :D
jayjay1990
19-04-2012, 21:53
well im making a full new bumper and i like my winches out of the way and im to lazy to keep mounting it lol
and the reason for rear winch well i dont really have one lol
i just like fabricating and i have a winch sat in my garage. as for chalenges yes i do plan on doing some punch chalenges when its done

19-04-2012, 22:02
Well then inboard is the only option over sticking out
You could mount it on the inside floor if you dont need the space :augie nice big steel base and a couple of fairleads to redirect the line.

Looking good mate :thumb2 Are you using plasma rope? If not then you'll need another hole to see how the wire cable is feeding onto the drum. Oh and one for the clutch lever I guess.:)
jayjay1990
20-05-2012, 15:39
Yes it's going on plasma rope and the free spool lever is going to be through the top of the bumper but it's got to be shortened as the rear door hits it at the moment
looks SWEEEET :D needs a snorkel tho ;)

see the rear bumper is all finished
jayjay1990
30-05-2012, 21:19
No rear bumper is far from finished lol got both ends to return round to the arches and fairleD hole to cut out lights to put in
And a few more bits and bobs
But I won't be getting that done just yet my truck took a battering at the event and needs allot of repairs it was really hard going on there even my mates stupidly modded landcruiser with full lockers and 37 inch Tyres was struggling but it should be done for next months event at biggin quarry and I should have a working rear winch
jayjay1990
01-06-2012, 06:49
the bumpers looking good
It's getting there but will be better when it's done I shall be having both bumpers powder coated at some point but I'm planning on making some sliders aswell so mint as well have them all done at same time to make it cheaper also got my diff guard And a few other bits to have done to
the one listed as a terrano is not the proper one, don't think it's a straight fit.
Its not, iv got one. Only the main part that fits the wing is any good. You have to change the air box round as well as it fits into the rear of it not the front. Not done mine yet or i would have posted pics.

How did you fit the 230V system? Do you plug the truck in like caravans or do you use a on board inverter/transformer?
Yes I use a big inverter it's really handy even for just plugging my grinder into when I'm fabing something up for my truck :-)

Ok the drag link mod and two steering arms welded up and painted £125
Power steering box supplied and cut up to suit LHS fitting about £75(depends on how cheap I can source the box ), Four machined spacers to stand the box off LHS chassis rail £30, four extra long bolts and nylocks £5, carriage £15
That's a set up using your existing track rods, but this will get rid of ball joint slop and is megga strong :D
I need your old steering arm and drag link back in exchange :thumbs

With there weight in gold mate they really are I use it to initially get my fridge cold then plug it into 12v as 12v just keeps it cool it would take ages to get really cold without it :-)

I'm wanting to get rid of my terrano just wondering whether I'd be better off striping it and selling it in bits if so what is stuff worth and is there a Market for engines and parts
Or am I better just selling it complete
I would be keeping my tyres and winches either way but the rest would be going it has lots of good parts bumpers lift ect ect
some people may be put off with a offroader, suggests being abused and a tough life.
how come you are selling it?

Just getting a bit bord with it I want something with live axles and no don't worry it won't have a LR badge on the new one
So you think I'm better Breaking it ???
I am not worried, i just bought a defender.
I was just saying that some people may be put off, i'd try and sell it as one before and see how that goes.

Jay, where did you get the D22 snorkel from?
I had a look at the site from the link earlier and they are 99 euros, that seems very cheap....

Does this look like the one?

I do like the idea of the one that comes out through the top corner of the wing and not sticking out along the wing, but the one above isn't too bad because it is quite flat
