hi, welcome to the site! that miliage is no problem as long as its been looked after right. it sounds expensive to me tho?. i have sold 2 similar to this age and miliage for around £1000 in last 3 months. i have an x reg lwb 2.7 sport at mo with 110k average condition wise for £1700
others should be along with advise shortly! james

Welcome aboard:thumb2

You are bound to find niggles with a motor of that age so don't worry too much. Loads of advice on here and downloads that'll show you how to do things.

Check the sills towards the rear wheel arches and rear seat belt mounts inside rear arches too.

Often the 4wd hasn't been used or used correctly so the front hubs can cause a few issues but not that bad reall.

Mines done 141k on an R plate, others have done more too so no issues with the miles.

A bit steep price though.

Way over priced. It's about £1200

Don't buy one with a sunroof

Check for rust in arches and on cills

Just bought my '02 for £2k it's pretty FKN tidy, 140k on it but it drives like new

eBay and auto trader classified is your friend, you could get a nice '01 to '03 for 2k if you look about and barter as its a buyers market out there

welcome and i am sure someone will be alonmg soon with some good advice, just to keep you going a few known common faults to check, rust in the front wings, just above the pastic trim, rear seat belt anchor points tend to rust, wheel bearings easy to change, see the download section. Where abouts are you in s.wales,

Welcome, I have just sold my 2001 with 77000 for £2500, have another look around, there are plenty out there.
These are great trucks but as already stated, they need to have some tlc and they will go on and on and on.......:thumb2

Steer clear, blokes a dreamer.

If rust is visable on outside of front wheel arches, then it's probably riddled with it, and a sunroof model of that age u can be sure the cills are about to fall off lol

Seriously I'd not be paying more than £700 and that's only if its mechanically excellent

Avoid, keep looking

Walk away rapid, over priced rust heap by the sound of it. You'd be better looking elsewhere. David.

I think it's too much, these trucks are getting cheaper due to fuel prices.

I wouldn't rush a buy.

If you see rust on the front wing around the arch, get it sorted NOW!

The plastic trim hides about 2 1/2 inch of the wing, if you can see it, it could be rotten inside. I just done mine and was shocked to se how bad there where inside. I just been to pick up two 2nd nand ones (You can not get new as they stopped making them) for £40 each and that was cheap.

Welcome to the site though, loads of advice from peps on here, so your in good hands.

makeitfit
04-04-2012, 17:45
Ay, those ruddy plastic trims cover a load of old poo. The backs will also be fizzing away under the plastic:o
I dont know why you shouldnt get one with a sunroof though:nenau

Wouldn't worry about it, the rest of the car drains into them too. That's all the condensation that forms on the inside of panels etc goes down your sills:o
Just give the drain holes a clean now and then . One of the few good reasons to bin the mud flaps :D

You might get a pen if you ask our illustrious leader nicely, then you can colour in your own T shirt :lol
The only sticker I have says "Rust is lighter than Carbon" :lol:lol:lol

Looks nice in the pictures, have a good look along the sill areas and check to see if there's a build up of mud/dirt in the joint at the bottom of the front wings, if you open the front doors, you can look from inside and check down below the bottom hinge, also worth removing the front mud flaps and checking behind the inner wheel arch liner as these hold road dirt and can become a rust trap:thumbs:thumbs
