I've already got a red one, so a blue one would balance things up nicely.

Definitely the transfer box looking back, I believe it was up for £45. Worth keeping in the garage though surely?
Is it a parcel shelf cos im after one of them. I know the odd are not good, but you never know?

a land rover part for only £75? Must be gift wrapped oil leak !
Envy such a terrible thing
No not as reliable as land rover. its the transfer box
It's a transfer box for the Terrano...:doh:doh:doh
BUT what worries me, if it's not as reliable as a Land Rover, then it must be fairly Kna**ered then, no wonder he is giving it away.:augie:augie
There won't be any oil in it...:doh as even the most reliable parts on a Land Rover Leak oil...
Swivel hub bearings, front and rear diffs, engine, gearbox, transfer box, and even the steering boxes are designed to never need an oil change, as they are always replenished with new oil during the weekly engine and level checks.
My father had a Disco, and after he visited us there were always 6 or 7 pools of oil when he left.:doh:doh
Took me 1/2 hour to clean the drive.
I wonder, if you add up all the oil ever spilt from all the Land Rovers ever built
(hey that rhymes)
and poured all this oil into the Gulf of Mexico, would they call it another oil spill disaster...?:augie
Just a thought...

yes but you could also be describing a terrano.ive had 3 discos no problems .2 terranos one 96 fautless the 02 was crap, rusty never had a car in 35 years fall in holes before i bought a terrano sport. dont matter what make theres always some dodgy ones. i wouldnt part with my 96 terrano but wouldnt buy a newer one. besides will need it when land rover goes tits up.transfer box is fine just dont whant to tip it.

I agree with you regarding the earlier versions, I have the Maverick, 1995 vintage, 17 years old, used every day, no rust holes, all major parts original, oh and most minor parts too. 2 washer pumps bought in last in years.
Why should I part with it and buy say a 10 year younger model, and then have to spend my leisure time fixing it. :doh
It still looks great, no oil leaks, no rattles, no squeeks, however my eye sight and hearing isn't as good as it was 17 years ago...:augie
When I find a good car we keep it, we had an Austin Ambassador for 13 years, :thumb: and a Ford Escort Mk 3 for less than 2.... Friday afternoon car, mechanics great, body...... Well it was during the strike, and bodies were stored in primer out side to absorb the moisture, and bubbles appeared all over it like the measles. It had 2 complete resprays....:doh under warrenty.
