Not sure if this should be in the for sale section (does say Nissan related) or down the pub. Mods, please feel free to move if I've guessed wrongly!
My work are having a tidy up and there are a number of servers and such going for much cheapness, if any of you fine lot are interested PM me.
Stuff includes:
3 x Dell Poweredge 2650 servers
1 x Dell Poweredge 2850 server
1 x Dell Poweredge 850 server
1 x Dell Powervault 124T LTO2 auto loading tape backup unit
1 x HP Designjet 450c wanting TLC
1 x A1 sized laminator BABS Compact Pro
A bunch of new LTO2 tapes
some weird webserver thing - Fairchild EL100
I expect the servers will be in the price range of £25-50 - all rack mount.
As I said, well off the wall, but it's good stuff and I thought anyone on here should get first dibs before it goes on the bay of E.
Would be very intrested in 1 of the Dell Poweredge 2850 servers what sort of price & how much for postage ?

Phew, that was quick! Postage is going to be the biggest issue for this stuff, currently it's residing in Edinburgh. I note your both in Wales (I know, I know, it's a big place, not everyone knows everyone else's sheep's uncle!:augie) but maybe a welsh contingent could pop up and collect? Otherwise it'll have to be freight rates - any preferred carriers you guys know of who'll not be stupidly expensive?
The HP and the laminator are both on large stands so are fairly bulky! The 450c looks like it'll need new cartridges and it definitely needs a new drive belt (about £25 of the bay).
I also forgot to say that the servers will not have any hard drives in as we have to destroy these for data security purposes, I will remove the disks from the quick release trays so all you'll need with be standard SAS drives.
I've looked at completed auctions on ebay to get some ideas of pricing, but I need to run these past my boss first. PM any offers as if I can swing something past him I will, you guys on this forum have helped me out loads already!

:doh Not SAS, Ultra 320 SCSI drives in the Dell's
The fairchild thing is a 1U rackmount ATX case with a P4 2.66Ghz board/chip in it, drives for this would be standard IDE. Budget rack machine basically.

iain.s the 2850 isn't the best of the lot, one of the 2650's has the best ram/CPU combination. As there are no hard drives are you still interested? Highest spec server would be £50 lowest £25, delivery would be carrier rates, still not sure - will try and get rough weights and dimensions so you can look up quotes.

I would consider doing a swapsie for maybe a tow bar or a rust free passenger wing (while you're cleaning up behind the rocking horse!:D) for some of this stuff too.
