Hi all just thought I would tell you that I have had my first day Off Roading ever at Slindon in West Sussex, used my road going works T2, so was being carefull, but nonetheless went almost every where except those marked "With Winch only" and have to say was well pleased with the results, most of the time only used 2 wheel and it copped very well, maybe the fact that I still had all my kit on board, and grossed at 2.2 tons helped with rear end traction, I have to say the site is deceiving in that it looks slimy but under the slurry it is firm, anyway we all had a good day, but I will not take my road going T2 again, too risky! and I want to push it harder, so next time it will be with the SWB off roader with a roll cage and a winch, then I will give it some serious work, took a couple of pics but difficult to get out to take pics of the good bits without getting slushed up to the hilt so these are mild, next time I will set up the on board video camera, maybe even two one front, one side, Rick

The two mate's I was with, I went everywhere they went except the place where one dented his door and the other lost a mirror, I backed off, and am well impressed with the T2 performance, Rick

you could be lucky, I will be using a cage I made for bangers, (with adjustments) and as Swifty has left behind a couple of his cages (he has told me he does not want them as he no longer wants to race) they could be available, they are heavy box section steel designed to go behind the drivers seat, H section with two horizontal rails and go from floor to roof, but as yet have not seen how they fit in a T2, have to wait and see on this one, Rick

Cheers Rick. I was told before that they need to bolt to the floor then another piece from the floor mount to the chassis . So you're looking at drivers roll over hoop basically and then a couple of diagonals to the back . If you see what I mean

When I do mine, it will have the 4 inch box section H frame bolted to the floor and to the roof, on the roof outside a 4 mm plate covering from the front pillars to behind the H frame, with 20 mm bolts right through the H frame welded pates through the roof and the 4 mm plate, on both sides together with two bolts and big plates just above the windscreen, in a bad roll-over this stops the roof coming down, H frame at the rear, windscreen pillars at the front, I did a quadrupole roll at speed with this set up, up then down a bank and although it bend the 4 mm plate my escape space was fully maintained, after seeing Slindon, I can see many places that I could roll with a reasonable drop, so the above will be a definite requirement, Rick
