After someone who shall remain nameless managed to lock his keys in the car like a complete idiot! I'm looking for a new front passenger window for my T2.. Had to break the existing one. Painful!
Couldn't have come at a worse time financially. So the cheaper the better please. As I'm totally skint from getting it on the road :( its tinted I'd that makes any difference, it's not dark like the rear privacy glass on my SE Touring, but it is very lightly tinted with a greenish blue hue.
Thank you. :) Nik

Thanks peeps, glad you've replied so quickly, appreciated.
I need to speak to my dad about times and money but I'm 99% sure I'll be having a window. Just need to find a tinted one!
Why should I have broken a rear window mate? I went for the front one as i thought finding the limo tinted windows would be hard. whereas the front lesser tinted glass would be easier.
If you have windscreen cover, it may be included on your insurance, but may be subject to an excess.
So £30 is quite cheap then.:augie
There are so many people in this club, who have only one set of keys, WHY ?
When we go on holiday, we take both sets, in case we loose a set, drop them in the river, break one or we want to get back to the car at different times.
They do wear out, my 17 year old Mav is still on the original set, but I am now using the second set as the first set are wearing thin, and may shear at some point, but still useable:thumb2
This posting might help others, so have a think.
PS don't leave the second set in the car though :doh:doh

i would have put the rear door glass through
1/ it dont need to match any tints next to it
2/ you wont be spending days messing around with knackered electric windows that are never going to run as nice as before
3/ forever finding bits of glass in the seats and carpet
4/ autoglass fix whatever panel it is for 50 quid if you have good glass cover on your insurance
the 2nd choice would have been the rear side glass, if i was fixing it myself .
im off now to buy a spare key ... lol

I wouldnt .The rear glass is bonded in and most insurance dont cover the side or rear glass..and the reason i know this is every t2 ive broken (about 12 now) ive sold the complete rear door to someone thats accidentally broken the rear window apparantly that glass is about £175 plus fitting.I would break the front door window as its the easiest to replace.

Just to clarify, I was completely stuck when it ended, miles from anywhere, phone in the car, nothing on me!

Re the second set of keys- there are oodles of places where you can secrete the spare key externally on the T2 and let's face it there's no point in it being at home when you're hundreds of miles away. Even if you resort to buying one of the magnetic key boxes to stow under the car, anything is better than breaking even the cheapest to replace window!

Thanks for all the helpful posts and offers. I've had autoglass out today and they fitted a new window, looks perfect tint wise, works nicely and no more glass in the car! £30 so I'm not arguing!
