He states " no rust no dents " , leaving himself very open there to discussion regarding trading standards, I would guess there is rust on the inside of his front lower wish bones, for a start, also the front bumper supports in the front wings are very vulnerable.

I am so glad you aren't buying a used car from me :augie

He has only been a member since oct 11 and has never sold anything, he has 2 cars both with 12 month mot, and has recently purchased some Kseal.:augie

If you do buy it, make sure he meets you at his home and not a car park somewhere.
Ask to use the loo, just in case it isn't his house.

Why am I cautious? :nenau

very wise my friend. I have never met an old car without rust, unless its been a fully restored classic. Dents....totally unavoidable on a car of this type. still, I dont care at that price, if the running gear and engine/electrics are good, thats a good start! major chassis issues should be easily noticable, as will major rust on them there sills/arches....I reckon if someone can satisfy themselves with a good nosey, its a bargain.

as I say, if I dont fix mine this week, ill consider it at that price, shame its not a diesel though as i could end up with a shit load of spares!

Kseal  not a good association !
Clivvy it would be a good deal if diesel but petrol needs petrol or an LPG conversion .
Diesel will run on for a very long time and if you look around carefully there are bargains to be had :sly
As Rustic suggest, I think he's a dealer and probably has a friendly MOT mate :o

yeah you know what, youre right. £700 for these, as we all know, is way less than what a trusted good example is worth. probably best avoided, as when it comes to cars, there are very few bargains to be had, only cheap cars that need a lot of work!

anyways, means I can carry on saving for my Triumph Spitfire.
