Thanks Pete, I looked on Ebay but did not come across this one, looks good and petrol too, shame it is Bradford, not a lot of time at the mo , and my MOT runs out 4th Feb, going to take my motor to specialist auto welders for their opinion, I have a spare chassis with good parts but feel it may cost too much, I cannot do it any more, with the body off maybe, but on my back, no way! welding that is, regards Rick
got a p reg 2.7 tdi taxed and tested but has starting problems bit sruffy was going to do it up but had heart attack last month not going to bother now payed £600 for it e-mail gallie2004@hotmail.com

Thank you Gallie, and all others who have put forward links or suggestions, I think I may have been a little quick off the mark in condemning the old girl, called in today on a local garage that does welding, and he gave her a good look over and gave me a price I could not refuse, so at the moment it is going in on Thursday and Friday to be plated up, he is only having it for two days because he will be treating it as a time filler between other jobs and as I will be local I can get on the trusty bike, as long as I have dropped all my kit off before hand, I am going to go out now and try and take a pic or two of problem, regards and many thanks to all, Rick

and cos we have a good frost and my solar panels are reading 0 deg C, I thought I would show how warm we are with this, in fact I will have to open the door soon as the dogs are panting and I am close to sweating, Rick

WOW thats rotten:eek:
It is isn't it, I have not seen one go here before has any one else experienced rot in this part, it is pretty major structural, ie stops rear axle twisting, I will be sand blasting it prior to letting the garage have it, I want good clean welds here, Rick

I will tell you what it cost when I have paid the bill and taken pics of the finished job OK, I am as interested as you are, Rick
it looks a bit fiddly but not too bad if you have room to work

Thats my problem, I can weld as well as anyone when I have room and can get my head at the right focal distance for my glasses, but under there and largely on by back, no way any more, even with the advantage of a lift, I would find it hard, Rick

Well picked the old T2 up this evening, all done including a new MOT two advisories, both front tyres near legal limit, what I can see from the outside the welding looks good, but need to get under in the daylight to see properly, and of course it is covered in under seal, will get some pics as soon as, but whatever £230 all in, I am well pleased, Rick
