Been there done that, not something I want to do again. My kids wanted to go so I sent them with their aunty and uncle.

If we use the underground we always feel as though we need a shower after, it's so stuffy down there, viruses must spread like wild fire.:augie

you can spend the whole day in the science museum and not see half of it, when I next go I will book a hotel and have three days, two in the museum and the last on the London Eye, and a trip up the Thames on a restaurant boat, if it appeals to you there is Madam Tussuad's not far from Kings Cross, oh and for the hell of it I will go by train, just so I have first hand knowledge of how far the system has deteriorated, Rick

well we had a good day out .
arrived in london 10.00 drop of point had been moved from kings cross to park lane .
had a look around winterwonderland in hyde park.
then we went up constitutional hill and half way along we saw Horse Guards on parade. very impressive .
At Buckingham palace we were just in time to see changing of the guards.
then onto Downing street ,even got so see some black women protesting about rape and murder in the Congolese. we later came across them outside horse guards and Trafalgar square.
very interesting to see the way the police kept them under control.
while inside horse guards yard the demo moved to outside so we saw a little extra from what would have been normal .
we then went to Westminster Bridge and went on a city river tour to Tower Bridge. The guide on the boat pointed out some of the major buildings along the water front. including HMS Belfast and saying as how the walkway had collapsed into the river which we saw as we went buy. Spent a couple of hours there walked over the bridge and had a look at the Tower .before catching the boat back to Westminster. Had a good look at the Eye but didnt go on it. £18 a bit steep and would have taken at leased 1 hour.
stood on Westminster Bridge for awhile took a few photos and heard Big Ben strike 5 oclock. made our way back to park lane along pica-dilly via Trafalgar square its a long walk but we were back on the bus by 6 45. ready for a sit down. bus left at 7 15 driver was a bit swift through the traffic jumping amber lights all the way. arrived back at Nottingham 10.00 home for 10 45 after a Mc D. heard someone say a hot dog was £5.
All in all we had a good day .
