hello everyone i have just joined . I have a 93 ford maverick 2.4 petrol 3door swb. I need some info.is there any adjustment on the clutch it is not slipping but it feels as if it is on its last. is it difficult to change? are parts hard to get hold of?i am in ireland.only had the jeep a week. can anyone help ?(-:

Im afraid im not too familiar with the clutch but im sure someone will help you shortly, as for parts here yes very easy to get hold of.

Hello and welcome. Most clutches are self adjust these days, but someone may know different bout the 93 model. :smile:

and yes i think there is some adjustment at the pedal end of the clutch but someone more experienced is bound to fill you in on this, have you tried the search function and looked for old threads on clutch problems?

Just checked my cd manual, (which u can buy from the club, see link on main page, lower righthand side) there are two adjustments on the pedal, height and play, the play can be adjusted with the master cyclinder push rod lock nut and the second is the pedal height using the pedal stopper bolt. you could also try bleeding it for air.

From what you have described it sounds like you have oil contamination on the clutch plate, check under the bell housing for any sign of an oil leak, may help to rule it out.
