Hi guys, newbie here, or new to the Ford Maverick anyhow.
I have just inherited a 1997 Ford Maverick SWB 2.7 GLS.
I have had a Land Rover Discovery before so not new to 4x4 but this baby has got me rubbing my hands together. Struggling to find service and workshop manuals though!!
Surprised to find a membership fee here though!

Hi and welcome, I am new here too.
The download section alone is probably worth £10. Also, this is one of the friendliest forums I have joined.
Brian.
Surprised to find a membership fee here though!
Hi, Welcome to the club, the information on this site is given by experienced owners who have actually done the jobs themselves, with tips and assistance from other members.
Main dealers don't have all the knowledge that this site can give, for example, main dealers often put standard gear oil in the rear diff, when it should be special LSD oil ( Limited Slip Diff).
There are many time saving tips on how to do difficult jobs.
How to avoid buying special tools.
There is also a download section for members to do their own servicing.
My favourite saying is:
"I have fixed problems I never knew I had." :nenau
That's why I have kept my 1995 maverick in excellent condition from new.
16 years old, best car I have ever owned.
Worth the £10 joining fee......... no question. :clap :clap
Try it for a year, then you can renew after a year if you find you have saved your joining fee many times over.:thumb2 :thumb2
Again welcome,
best regards, Rustic

Agree 100% with all previous comments - when I joined I had a clunking noise from the front of the car on full lock. I was about to get the drive shafts changed, but on the off-chance put a thread on here for help - someone suggested the steering stops probably needed greasing, even put photos on to explain where they were. Four blobs of grease later, noise gone, probably £200-£300 for new drive shafts saved, all for a tenner, and that was on my first day of membership - been loads of advice since, saving me loads more wonga, best £10 I've ever spent!

This club is the best, The amount of help I've got on here is just endless. But it's not just 4x4 chat that goes on here. There's a lot of humor too thanks to briggie:thumb2

Well what can I say! :bow You'll have to wait til payday though as I just laid out for the Maverick! Being a bit of an old motor though, I know I'm going to be getting intimate with her at some point and will need all the help I can get. Already I have questions stacking up with niggling problems :nenau
Glad to know there is plenty of humour here as I have had some poor experiences with forums for other vehicles! :doh
