It's a shame about NFU as they are pretty good to deal with.

Jim

BTW It's my fault that my wife reversed her car into the back of the Terrano today:doh

Another case of us that want to pay for insurance paying for the dickweeds that don't..

Christine's car went from £340 to £1500 with morethan (we are supposed to get it cheap cos we are both with them).. Full no claims, went with the Post office @ the end £390.

jims-terrano
08-07-2011, 18:57
Adrian flux - £481.72

Where the hell is the justice.

They explained reasons along the lines of:

Because I have 3 points
Because my wife has had one claim in which the other parties insurance paid out 4 years ago.
Because some old gimmer nudged her car in a car park on Saturday night and his insurance has already accepted liability.
Because I have business cover (basic going from one place of work to another)

And finally he didn't say this but... BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!!!

Anyone want to buy my T2?

Jim

PS quite seriously thinking about getting rid when it's MOT'd next week.

where is moomin vally?

well.... now your asking something arent you

Moomin Valley is a quiet, peaceful place somewhere in Finland. It was first discovered by Tove Janson in 1945. In Moomin Valley, eggshells turn into clouds and the rivers are (periodically) full of Rasberry Juice. In Moomin Valley, giant snow horses come to life and the Queen of the Cold rides accross the sky on winters nights... while in Moomin house, Moomin Mama, Moomin Papa, and Moomintroll himself keep an open house for all their friends.....

There are too many arseholes, insurance companies and police included, skimming off the top by allowing people in luxury cars to have expensive like for like replacements and then taking weeks to complete simple repairs. Then there are the ambulance chasers.

F*ck the lot of 'em.:mad::mad:

Insurance is much more on a Mistral. They instantly add around £200 to the price as it is an "imported" car, and so parts cost more! You can tell them the parts are the same price as the non imported ones...to no avail. My old insurance company insured me for my saab 900 2.0 - me and wife fully comp £187 - but when I changed to the Mistral they wanted over £800 -tossers.
After much searching online and ringing around I got one at £400 fully comp with Mayfaire.
When I was searching around I asked the cost of third party (as then the cost of parts for my imported truck do not come in to it) believe it or not, some companies charge MORE for third party than for fully comp!!! So they want to charge us more for less cover!! When asked why the reps have no answer.

Hey All,

Havent been about for a while but thought i'd add my bit :)

Just insured my patrol 1990 for the 1st time, called round 12 companies and found Performance direct the best by far!

£305, Import, fully comp and all mods!!! (turbo, suspension and body lift, snorkel, wheels etc......)

Oh...and if you call Adrian flux, they only insure on the driveway for up to 4k, if you say its worth over that and then back track while on the phone they refuse cover!! Ha! crazy.

Hi All,

1998 LWB terrano 2.7 TDi SE Touring.
I am 41 years young, 23+ years NCD, wife on the policy, No points or convictions for either of us.
End of August I paid £210 3rd party F & T, protected NCD and legal cover.
Was £187 the year before.
Gone with Bradford & Bingley insurance. Got the quote through Argos compare.
This did give me a £30 Argos voucher for buying through them so technically I have only paid £180:clap

I have just paid £274.00 fully comp with More Than.

That's me and a named driver (both over 40 with clean licenses).

£150.00 excess, £100.00 voluntary & £75.00 windscreen.

11 years NCB not protected.

I thought it was a fair deal and allowed me to get away from Shielas Wheels, who are part of eSure. The worlds worst insurance company (from my experience).

Hi,

The Argos vouchers came after 60 days, you have to wait, Mine came today:)
This is the link to Argos compare
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CreditAndInsuranceView?langId=-1&storeId=10001&page=Credit%20%26%20Insurance%20homepage%7CInsuran ce%7CCar%20Insurance

When you get the list of insurers at the very bottom in the small print there will be a link on how to claim the vouchers.
Save the page, come back in 60 days and claim them back,
Bit of a pain but worth doing.:thumbs

If you cant see it PM me and I will look mine up, I have the link saved on my PC at work.

Cheers,

Steve.
