From your description I assume you have an engine misfire only when its wet and the engine runs normally when its dry.

I would take look at the plug leads if they are the typical carbon string type they tend to deteriorate after a few years.

For the relatively low cost I would fit some silicino leads and check obvious things like the condition of the distributor cap and rotor arm. Make sure coil top is nice and clean.

Have you tried spraying some WD40 on the leads and does it improve things ?

are you sure this is engine related if so it will be missing a few beats, I am not sure your description fits this, just cos it is raining does not mean wet leads, could this be a general car shudder in the wet? Rick

Good point, then I would suggest the rear slip diff oil needs changing.

Also what tyres do you have on the back, make, tread depth, pressure?

Best tyres for the back are 2 identical ones in all respects or the rear diff could fight it's self.
