once again, solarman 216 has come to the rescue , im sure hes gonna hate me for typing this , but i just couldnt let him do what he did without a public thankyou .

im sure most of you are aware of the many problems ive had recently with my car , the latest being the brake problem that the latest garage couldnt sort out .... theyve had it for 9 days  , and it only went in for new pads and shoes .

to cut a long story short (ish ) , they said the master cylinder was leaking /faulty , and i had to get a new one

rick has been in regular contact with the garage , and evenually asked them to send him the cylinder so he could inspect /test it,....... its perfect rick said nothing wrong .

so , amazingly rick drove up from the south coast to the garage in west yorkshire

within 15 /20 minutes of rick arriving my car is fixed :clap ..... to the astonishment of the fitter .

what can you say about this man ?...... i have obviously thanked him personally etc , but i think a round of applause for a amazing member of the forum is called for .:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

Extremely well done Rick. Must be getting close to the time for you to change garages , Pete, those guys don't seem to be on top of their game and will likely cause you more trouble than their worth. Regardless of any Yorkshire barter deals, it's time to ask yourself if you can afford to keep using them. You need to have a nice cup of tea and ask yourself where would your transport needs be now without the help of Bat, Rick, Clivvy and others to many too mention on this site.

This is dedication above and beyond the call of duty - it's heartwarming to hear of something like this in an age of "I'm alright Jack". Good on you Rick, you are a true star!

Great work Rick, it just goes to show that there are decent folk out there and that this club is more than just a club with everyone willing to help each other out where and when they can. Once again great work Rick, top bloke :clap:clap:clap:clap

im sure rick will explain , but he sorted it within 15/20 mins of arriving , the fitter looked quite shocked .

as for my awareness of the help i have recieved from the members of this forum , i am acutely aware that without their help i would not be on the road ,and i will be eternally gratefull for that fact

this was not the original garage that did the gearbox work , plus it was in the " good garage guide "

i wish i could have done the work myself , but i cant .... i have tried to help rick in the past , but to be honest i think i was more of a hinderance

Amazing kindness from Rick there - nice one!

But its a good lesson - this must have cost Briggie far more in reimbursing Rick for a days time and 700 miles of fuel than if he'd got the job done properly in a competent garage first time, so take note all! :thumb2

Just poor bleeding technique, but I had no idea before I left home, sort of imagined that they fuffed up the pad fitting, so took the trailer just in case, it is really not Pete's fault, this is a newish garage to him, it can be very difficult to find a good reliable garage, it is the same with plumbing, I am often asked "how do I find a good plumber", there is only one way, personal recommendation, Gas Safe, Corgi, Institute of plumbers, bla bla bla are all totally useless, as are good garage guides, this one in fact has not bothered to check the location map as it is shown as being just below Bradford when in fact it is Mytholmroyd near Hebden Bridge, so can anyone recommend a garage for Pete, I do not think he will mind a little journey as long as they are reliable, Rick

Well it sounds better than the last garage you used, but it would be nice if a member has used them and could give an opinion, Rick
