I've gotta change the water pump on my 2000 t2.It looks relatively straight forward, and I know there is a download available, however thats on a mistral, but in theory should be the same . Is there anything else i should look out for and is the gasket done dry or do i use sealant (instant gasket) or not .
The other thing is water ingress into the cabin/ passenger side carpet, could this be getting in through inspection cover/plate which is directly above recirculating air vent? Cheers :thumbs

If it's in the boot it's a common problem. Rear tailgate rubber seals don't seal very well.
search the forum, should find some ideas what others did to fix it.

:confused:Dont think its the heater matrix coz with the carpets being out, the water is clear and only appears after rain.

Water in footwell.
Sunroof drains blocked or dropped off the connection.
Inspection panel below the black plastic below windscreen.
Heater matrix (but you've ruled that out.
Open the door and look towards the hinges and you will see that there is a gap through to behind the wing. The bottom of this gets clogged with mud and crud. Water runs over the top of this and through the seal and into footwell. Hose this mud out from both sides. This can also clog the bottom of the sunroof drains too.
Jim
PS water pump should be the same as you guessed.
