Had a great day out today with Young Fez...really nice bloke; we did Soar-y-Mynydd followed by Strata Florida, both ways, mostly in beautiful sunshine. Terrific drive apart from some w@nky trailbikers who insisted on overtaking with no warning on a track with three inches of clearance either side, and an even w@nkier bunch of L**d R***r and D******y drivers who thought it was clever to stop in the middle of the track and decamp for some kind of mutual masturbation session.:doh
No pics really apart from a couple I did on the way home of my muddy happy truck, and Fez did some vid that he's threatening to post somewhere.
But a great day and good to meet another nice looney. :thumb2
What have you lot been up to?:nenau
yep I had a great day too, we should of took a pic of both the vehicles.
The whole track has been sign posted very clearly.
Vids will be uploaded after I edit them.
Only pic i took:

With a caravan on the back + family yes :D
No caravan, no family (except my faithful co pilot) no plans yet but interested
Couple of vids. Mount was screwed to the dash this morning. Worked pretty well, Just no anti vibration, choose 720p for better quality.

Was going to make 5 videos in total but I am going to try and stick all the strata florida stuff together. About 8 mins worth so may take a while to upload tommorow.

PS - I had to laugh, I posted that top pic on my 'other car' forum and they are like "Ooh hope you got out of there OK?". Say what? And to think I moaned at you because they'd cut new drains and the water didn't come over the bonnet any more...
Excellent vids ................glad you enjoyed it.:thumb2

best start saving for the diesel then, mind loved the scenery of mid and west wales
last summer. will return for sure soon.
Is that a completely standard T2, just trying to gauge what mine is capable of without mods :)

how long is strata florida roughly, seems to go on for ever, in a nice way!
a real adventure, likening it to my houndkirk road and some lanes over
north yorkshire moors. almost got to the abbey end of it last year but
was on my own (vehicle wise) with car full of family.
agree doesn't look too challanging, a good thing as too rough is type that
usually gets closed...

Mine is on 31" tyres with the sidesteps and towbar off, and Fez is on 30" so not much bigger than standard - and he had his towbar on. In all but the worst weather, driven carefully its perfectly doable in a standard truck.
@Makeitfit....no edit mate, we took the girlie route LOL:o

Very sensible :thumbs
Just wondered if it had been signed off route?
Can't remember if the signs said to divert around the bomb hole, Don't think they did.
My vehicle is standard except 30" KL71s, A standard truck on standard tyres could do it.

There was definitely a straight ahead sign (defo not a left/right) between the track and the bomb hole but can't recall if there was one on the other side of the track as well to imply "keep to track and stay out of the f**king bomb hole you pratts"'.
Common sense would say that theres nothing you can do to damage solid rock so possibly they've left it as an alternate? Only way is to go and look :augie
EDIT: In fact isn't that it at about 6:12 in Fez's last vid? If it is, and I think it might be, he's edited out the previous 5/10 seconds that might show if theres a sign on the r/h side (we were doing the West/East direction that time....)..come on Fez.... LOL
I edited a bit out, I will check after work.
