For starters not far from you all with a load capacity to at least match the T2 :thumb2

having had a disco and now a lwbt2 i think with the third row of seats removed you have more room in a t2?
and with both makes the same you only have to go to one place for advice:nenau
I LIKE the Pajero :naughty :thumbs
yeah Pete, why is a T2 too small? is it the boot size without back seats down thats too small??

Well in all seriousness, if you buy a BIG £700 automatic 7-seater its likely to explode, never mind the message. If it doesn't I'd expect 1-2 years life out of it on a good day.
On older Espace is the best option that comes anywhere near meeting that budget TBH.

Sadly beggars (and i include most of us in that :lol) cant be choosers.
I would think if its purely practical shes after a van would be the best bet. If its comfort it could be a smaller focus size motor.
Id be very wary of all the cars your long at for that price. Spaceship mileage and hard working life I would have thought ,
theres an article in the 4x4 mag this month explaining how 4x4 prices are holding nicely due to the possibility of more bad winters amongst other things. Diesels are always at a premium over petrol especially at that age when space ship mileage is the norm and people carriers are always in demand.
I dont think youll get a good example of any of them at the moment for that money.
Wold a vectra estate do the trick and just do one trip extra :nenau
a van could have tax benefits if used for buisness, road tax will be cheaper aswell!
sadly, I agree, its going to be tough. Personally, i'd hold out one or two months and save just a bit more. You are more likely to get something half decent for a £1k, but I would be taking several lads along to take a real good look at it before buying to find out WHATS wrong with it, not IF it has issues.
somewhere Peter, will be the ideal, cheap 4x4.
does it have to be a 4x4 i would have thought things like the galaxy/sharan or the espace would have been better as they have better economy over the 4x4's also they are a complete multipurpose vehicle with the removeable seats, also tend to be comfier than most 4x4's, the pug 806 has a better entry system with the sliding doors for tight places
if it has to be a 4x4 then you could look at the delcia, but this can be bad on fuel, the disco is smaller boot wise than most 4x4's but is slightly larger than the t2's and suzuki's
personally i would be looking at a lpg'd petrol engine over the td with the way prices are makes a v8 similar cost to run a td
