Dont forget advisories are not always accurate and they are just that. Theyre not flash or severe weather warnings ;)
ie maybe :thumb2
also the advisory was issued at around ten this morning. Beweather which is a usually relaible weather utility on blackberry had the snow warning on at that time but it updates every hour and the warning dissapeared around midday :nenau
What was the link you posted briggie

ps I am very cynical about met office forecasts.
I sat in a presentation last June given by one of their bods who said words to the effect that no way would winter 2010/11 be any way as bad as anything we had seen 2009/10. mmmmmm :doh
Forecasters Warning
Heavy Snow
Areas Affected: The hills of northern Britain from the Pennines northwards
Valid: 00:00 - 18:00, Saturday 19th February 2011
This is a Weather Watch issued by Metcheck at 11:33 on Friday 18th February 2011.
A band of heavy rain slowly moving in from the west overnight has the potential to turn to snow over the hills of northern England, central and southern Scotland as it encounters colder air over these regions.
There is some uncertainty about how much snow may develop, but most of the snow that does fall is expected to be across higher ground above 300m over northern England, and 200m in Scotland. Accumulations of snow are likely, with up to 10cm falling in places, perhaps more over the highest peaks.
Where the snow occurs, driving conditions will become hazardous, especially across higher routes.
This Weather Watch will expire at 18:00 on Saturday evening, unless superseded by further updates.
Issued by: Paul Barber for Metcheck
