Had to go down to Bristol today to see the new Bailey Orion ,thats a caravan for those not in the know. Anyway thought I'd check the mpg so filled up before I left and again when I got back.
Result, 265 miles of mainly 75 ish on the clock and a return of 27.4 mpg.
Not bad for a car with over 148k on the clock and way overdue a service

Funny you mention MPG, but I've just noticed mine has gone UP by at least 10% in a couple of weeks :nenau
So my usual 25 26 ish has now gone to over 28, and I can only think it was the fuel pump pressure return valve thingy :thumbs It was 13 quid well spent me thinks:) especially as it didn't fix the problem I hoped it would have:rolleyes:
i dont seem to get as many miles per £20 of diesel as i did last year :augie:lol

I posted on here last year......
Went to Cornwall for the weekend, drove down late at night. Filled up before I left, fast motorway and A roads all the way.
Topped it up before coming home .....
24mpg !!!!!!!!! ;O)
Fitted a K&N since then so looks like thats helping.
Did get 31mpg on a run to Warwich but that was at more sedate speeds.

it is running 50% svo so it could be that, or could it be the quality of the fuel we are being ripped off for is improving :nenau
Im lucky to get 22mpg out of mine.Tryed everything to get it better but no luck(Full service inc valve gaps and replacing copper washers that where naff).Only thing ive noticed is that the mini filter is missing and not sure if that makes much different or not.Only ive notice that with other cars ive had is that if uve been on a run and then remove the fuel cap i use to get a hissing noise but none on this one:nenau May just be like that ive no idea
taking the lead out of your boots will help mpg :lol

Regularly get 30 mpg out if my 02 2.7tdi wagon. That is mostly big A roads and a bit of town driving, mind you I dont go over 2500 rpm as that really hits the mpg !!! The later trucks are probably less economical as the front hubs are permenantly on (more drag back to the transfer box)
