If anyone has a blackberry watch out for the next software upgrade :thumb2

I ignore most of the "there is new software for your phone available" warnings if everything is working ok , but the latest one, certainly from Voda, takes you from OS5 which is good enough , to the brand new OS6 as in whats on all the new phones.

It really is fantastic.

Its like going from Windows Me to a properly working windows 7 :D

Folk of my acquaintance who have the tarty torches love it but mine is a 9700 non touch screen so Id not really concerned myself and putting it on mine hadnt even crossed my mind.

Suddenly up pops this info box, hello do you want os 6.................wtf of course I do :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

It is really well thought out and so far (a week in) running swish AND using less battery than the OS5 :thumbs

is this just out of the blue or did you have to be connected via your lappy and the BB Desktop?

I sync it regularly so calendar/contacts are up to date and with me (long story but the works phone is crap for doing it so I use my own)

I thought Id switched off the update software bit until the "theres an update available" popped up.

If you install or use blackberry desktop and sync up that'll do the checks for you and let you know or somewhere in options I think theres a do it wirelessly button :thumbs

I was led to believe they are more secure than most :thumb2

Im with you regards keyboards. The BB has surprised me, its the first phone Ive ever had that Ive been 100% satisfied with in every respect.

The only one Id swap it for would be the Torch and I am well happy to wait until renewal to do that (the torch has the same keyboard as the bold and a decent touch screen so you have the choice and best of both worlds plus os6 :thumb2 )

I run a pda for sat nav, gps, small computer. (windows mobile)

then use a normal mobile phone for calls/texts. I got a sonim xp1 for £20 2nd hand from ebay. Works very well and it's shock proof, water resistant (probably waterproof) and pretty strong.

I'm usually outside most of the time ( though the way things are going it's getting less and less, when it rains I'm usually so wet i have to wring out my socks! I would spend all day emptying the case. And i would probably only ever use it as a phone anyway so I think I'll stick with what I've got :thumb2
