What bad luck that is, can't you claim off the house insurance together with the roof repair? Just a thought. :nenau

Mistral definition :-
A strong cold dry wind that blows south through France to the Mediterranean.

Today is called sick Monday, as it is one of those days when most people take off sick...

Roof tiles are outside, can't get more outside than that can you. :doh

Even better, they will have "Landlord insurance" they have failed to maintain the house in a suitable safe condition, and as such they are responsible for third party damage.

Contact them, also any bodywork scratches etc....

Doesn't work that way sadly, they will always refer you to the motor insurer. The third party liability on house insurance is for personal injury.

most local authorities don't carry insurance for such events at all!

what they have is a little man (or woman) employed to argue with you and try to make your claim as small as possible. He will have the authority to pay, but will first try and make you claim off your car insurance - be persistent :thumb2

keep the bits of tile that did the damage as evidence, just in case :thumb2

Might also be worth taking pics of the spot it was parked and looking at met office wind speeds and directions for the area, I once had to deal with a very similar claim - scaffolding boards blowing onto a caravan roof!

But that would have been against the builder surely?

complicated, in this case the scaffolding co were putting up the scaffolding for the council, who were doing the work. So the customer/supplier relationship was with the council not the scaffold company.

I never miss my life as a local authority officer - honest :nenau
