Always fancied the REME version of the FV432 with the crane on the back for timber recovery, absolute piece of pee to drive. Disappointed not to see one there

yeah went in looking at tm's but found another dream wagon a foden 6x6 wrecker.
managed a quick ride in one at a summer show, suspect ta were demonstrating
their gear, the sheer climb up into cab will never be forgotten, atleast 31 years
ago as a sprog!
must be my age but like boxy cabbed trucks, volvo globe trotters and of course
the renault magnum spring to mind as road going tractor units. guess everyone
else followed suit, but think the ford transcontinental might have been the
first of these slabs, didnt last long but renault took over the design. perhaps
even developed it into the magnum...?

I like the Foden 6X6 recovery with hub reduction axles and RR engine, but I can only dream, Rick

says from 1975, earlier than i thought, says ahead of its
time, perhaps too early, but paved way for likes of volvo
f10/f12
as a kid i recall there was a version by match box, in their
super king series, artics hauling perhaps containers but
also a grand kit than assembled a bridge it carried and
then could drive over! pity i cant remember what i did
yesterday...or anything useful!
