Roma Caravans enter tourer market

£30 grands worth of luxery here, can see some classic Roma traveller
caravan points, but also bathroom and kitchen, getting hint of
airstream too.

not sure about front windows though, looks bit home made using what
would look like side front windows, then another along side just odd,
bit kit built?

Still with the Stealth firm on block too now with their flat fronted 'vans
guess some one wil buy it! just not me...i'd sooner have a classic Roma.

Looks nice enough, but for 30k I'd rather have a narrowboat. Not sure about the longevity of that domestic-looking double door in what is a pretty flexible body either.

they have been using the same doors for years, i have a late 70's buccaneer (the origins of roma) with a single one of those doors and it's perfect, and a mid 90's roma with the same and again works perfect.

Note:
the only difference in this and other roma's is the word 'tourer' don't get hung up on it as it is still another Roma the same size and spec. Not entering a new market at all, just perhaps atracting different customers?

as for weight i would guess (from experience) around 2000k unladen.

I think they look awful. They obvious are a quality built but look like cheap tat. The shape of the front and at least one side window look diy and as for the patio doors :doh:doh:doh:doh

The design is old fashioned look style over substance.

Plenty of examples...................the wine rack is a poor idea, waste of space. That little table with the great big cushions around doesnt look like a particularly practical proposition.

Id be intrigued to know what market research they did amongst caravaners before switching the cad program on.

Dave, that's more or less exactly what I said when I was sent the brochure, I don't like the front windows, and the one above the sink looks like a left over front window. I think one patio door is a nice idea, especialy for disabled access. But two? what this does achive is a cheap way to use up internal space without having to actualy make any furniture.

I belive that what they are trying to achive is the style and elegance these style of caravans had in their hayday, and build them to a modern budget.

The company that they grew from was the original Buccaneer company, not the tourers as that is just a sold out brand name, but they were built regardless of exspense in an era when people were prepared to pay for it. Though they have survived the chage in towing laws, and now with the change back to allow wider caravans once again they may develope into what they once were - but i doubt it. Sad really, but the age of the 'flash trailer' is over.

No problems mate :thumb2 just not to my taste and unfortunately in this modern world theres a few bits there that are easy to criticise. We like more the "clean lines" or "functional" style .

However having said that I have a bit of a thing for airstreams, I reckon one would look pretty cool behind the jeep :augie

Or for out and out practicality and toughness those Aus vans appeal big time to me :thumb2

now that is a sooty motor home, sooty and sweet, matthew corbett etc.

i used the term tourer as the manufacturer does, as tey say they are
entering that market, i guess as a apposed to traditional traveller's
trailers. hence has full kitchen/sink and bathroom. water in a traveller
'van being frowned upon by tradition.

thinking the front end looks positively retro, back to trailers of 1940's
or so as its almost face like, 2 eyes andd a nose??.

interior wise airstream use non wood trim furnniture, as do traditional
romas, trim more like a living than holiday trailer.

note the spare carrier on rear wall, seen this before, a lot of unnecessary
weight up there i would have thought.

kind of like patio doors, but if for diusabled access does it follow thru
on interior walk/wheel thru's.

daved, i suspect roma might be traditional enough not to have cad!

i never niticed the barthroom, a toilet in a ROMA! I just assumed it wouldn't have - I rest my case :lol

only see landhuas in book and on web before, ok this is, but
atleast is owned and for sale.

about to say a towable static, then seller put that at end of
listing. certainly not your average aerodynamic fronted tin tent
mind suppose towed behind a truck might as well go for boxy
and interior space. the bays remind me of my friends atlas
static 34x12 model, certainly get the gin n tonic drinkers in a
flap if pulled onto a club site with it.

pity over length, so even with new full width law going to need
a wagon over 3500kg to haul it.

like the look of val dr loirre, but really prefer the roma 762s
currently on flea bay for when i get my 7.5tonner...
