Newbie with lots questions, but first is tyres

Hello to everyone as this is my first post after registering.
On my second Terrano, first was a 2004 import and now have a 2003 UK model.

The 04 one had 16inch rims and had no problem getting a set of Goodrich AT's for it.
Th 03 model has 17inch with 235/65r17 tyres.
Goodrich dont list this size but do list 245/70r17's. Will these fit my rims OK? or will there be problems.

Any recommendations as to AT tyres for the 17inchers would be gratefully received.

Welcome, Am sure there will be the usual crew along to advise you, Have you tried kumhos,general grabbers at2 and maxxis which seem to be the most used tyres on here, good luck monty

Hi welcome to the club.
You can change tyre size, but the critical measurement is rim width.
When you look at tyres they have a rim width range, manufacturers have different approvals for a different range of tyres.
So first find the rim width, then look at the range from the tyre manufacturer.

If you go up in width and down in profile, often there is very little difference in the overall diameter.

There is a calculator somewhere on this site.

Thus clearance will still be ok and speedometer will be the same.

I agree. 15 inches are the way to go, and you can get some monster tyres. 31x10.5x15s Maxxis Trebadors are the way forward :augie
