View Full Version : alloys 4 steels
thiking about swapping my alloys for some steal wheels and i am really only going to damage them
it will only cost the interested party the price to fit the tyres on the steel wheels

I've never heard of anyone on here having that problem....the reason some cars are prone to it is because dickheads fit ultra low profile tyres (on alloys that are only intended for road use anyway) and drive over potholes at 90 mph.....its a common problem in the BMW boy-racer fraternity for example....do not let it put you off. The deep profile and width of the tyres provides excellent protection for the wheels on these trucks, don't go wasting time on steel wheels.
And I would suggest that if you hit the ground in a Terrano hard enough to crack a wheel, you'd be doing much more serious damage elsewhere!!:augie

You make me giggle sometimes!
I offered you three steel wheels for free last week and you refused :augie
Why not have two sets of wheels, one mud tyres on steels the other your road tyres to save noise, fuel, help handling etc then you could buy some really big and aggressive muds that you only put on for the play days.
I do exactly that and usually pay about £50 for a set of second hand muds through the lads in the other club...
